The Theta Kappa Chapter of Delta Delta Delta was founded at Southern Methodist University on February 2, 1916. Since our founding, Tri Delta has remained one of the most active Greek chapters on the SMU campus, leading the Greek community in intramurals, campus involvement, and academic achievements. A commitment to excellence is evident in Tri Delta's contribution in extracurricular activities such as Mustang Corral, Student Foundation, Student Senate, business clubs, community service, religious organizations, and several SMU athletic teams. The women of Delta Delta Delta share their talent in many ways – with each other, the campus and the community.
The SMU Tri Deltas excel in many areas, but we are especially proud of our continuous academic achievements, philanthropic endeavors and our strong sisterhood. Among the eight SMU Panhellenic chapters, Tri Deltas have been number one in grades for over eleven consecutive years. Also Tri Deltas
not only hosts three annual philanthropy events for St. Jude Children’s Research Hosp ital, but also participate as an active member in the Dallas community. As a Tri Delta member we enjoy many experiences with our sisters. We hold "Deltas Only" events to provide social bonding among the chapter; some events include dinner and movie, pedicure, tie-dye party and so much more. We also love to get together for formals, mixers and date dashes. Tri Delta sisterhood is a unique bond of friendship that provides its members with a sense of family.
Our Tri Delta house, located on 3100 University Boulevard, was built in 1954 and has since become a place where hundreds of women have called home. Currently, the chapter has 32 resident members, and is also open to all the active members who stop by for meetings, studying, and relaxing with friends. The memories and friendships that you share with your sisters will last a lifetime.
